Trustees

On 1st February 2017 Barling Magna Primary school became a Primary Academy joining Great Wakering Primary Academy as one of the two schools in Brickfields Multi Academy Trust (www.brickfields.org). Governance is now undertaken by a board of trustees. Their role is similar to that of governors in that they have three core functions:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  2. Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

Trustees hold termly meetings, incorporating an AGM in the Autumn term. In addition there are currently three committees: Finance and Audit, Standards and Performance, Barling Magna IEB Transition and a Pay Review committee. The committees look at their focus areas in considerable detail and findings are fed back to the Board of Trustees.

Since the final meeting of the Interim Executive Board (IEB) on 8th March 2017 an IEB Transition Committee has been formed to monitor  Barling Magna Primary Academy's progress in addressing the issues identified in the school's most recent Ofsted inspection. It is anticipated that this committee will meet termly until the school is next inspected.
