Online safety

As children are undertaking much of their home learning online we want to ensure your child’s safety when accessing these online learning tasks. Please take a moment to read the following and look at the 'Thinkuknow' link and document below which provide more comprehensive support for parents.

You should:

  1. Talk to your children about the content that they are accessing online.
  2. Ensure that your device has appropriate privacy and security settings enabled.
  3. Discuss online safety regularly and talk about how you stay safe online.

We are:

  • Linking to websites that are educational and age appropriate.
  • Setting Youtube videos using Safeyoutube.net to remove adverts and links.
  • Using Google Classroom, where access is password protected and restricted to just our children and their teachers.
  • Reminding children about their E-safety lessons with the following key messages:

1. Don’t post any personal information online. 2. Keep your privacy settings as high as possible 3. Only talk to people that you know offline. 4. Respect other people’s views, be polite and think about how to respond to others. 5. If you see something online that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe or worried: tell a trusted adult immediately.

Further details regarding E-safety can be found here.
